The Donald: Picture of an Abusive Husband/President

So, now we have word that if an open convention means that The Donald will not get the nomination after all, “bad things will happen.”

From this article in the Washington Post,

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump said Wednesday that a contested GOP convention could be a disaster if he goes to Cleveland a few delegates shy of 1,237 — and doesn’t leave as the party’s nominee.

“I think you’d have riots,” Trump said on CNN.

Noting that he’s “representing many millions of people,” Trump told host Chris Cuomo: “If you disenfranchise those people, and you say, ‘I’m sorry, you’re 100 votes short’ … I think you’d have problems like you’ve never seen before. I think bad things would happen.”

In case you don’t know, these are the words of a classic wife abuser. “If you don’t do what I say, you are going to pay.” It makes me wonder very much what it is like for Trump’s various wives to live in the gilded castle his much boasted-about wealth provides for them.

I’m guessing: it is a living hell unless . . . unless they’ve learned deep subservience, unless they’ve learned to keep their contrary opinions to themselves, unless they’ve learned to jump high at every command. If they have learned these things, and learned them well, it is still a living hell but at least “bad things aren’t happening to them.”

Donald has often been described as a bully. He’s far worse than that. He’s an abuser. And he’s quite close to taking on the position, not of chief executive, but as Chief Abuser.

As many political analysts are saying, the GOP deserves Trump. They’ve made one too many deals with the extreme right-wingers and deeply racist citizens of the US. They’ve played such obstructionists to Obama, admittedly a flawed President, although hardly the devil they Republicans have portrayed him to be, that they’ve managed to accomplish nothing for the greater good of the US. More, they’ve forgotten their own responsibilities to the greater good in their eagerness to pander to the lowest of the low, as long as it means they keep feeding at the plentiful government trough.

So, while the GOP pays its dues, the rest of the nation will suffer if this insufferable abuser gains the highest office in the land. Because the GOP is essentially made of up power-hunger sycophants, no one will call his bluff. They’ll line up behind him, zombie Chris Christie style, hoping for crumbs from his gold-plated table. They’ll dare not TAKE ONE STAND against the abuse this man will heap upon them because “bad things will happen.”

I believe that part of the DNA of our country is Patrick Henry’s passionate plea, “Give me liberty or give me death.”  I suspect people were more courageous then. Now, we just say, “Give me a tiny bit of your marvelous billions and I’ll  . . . . ” Well what I want to write cannot be put on this blog.

Donald is one very, very sick man. He’s never been taught the disciplines of self-control, of recognizing that others have worth, of awareness that he actually is not the center of the universe. He’s the person everyone hopes their child will turn out NOT to be, eternally self-centered, truly power-mad, leaving sorrow and destruction in his wake, and hurting in any way possible anyone who does not worship at the altar that venerates him.

Our very possible next president. It may not just be the GOP that deserves him.

  1. I agree with all of your thoughts. One thing though, did you have to call President Obama a “flawed” president? All presidents are flawed, because they are human. Did you add that in there to make sure your readers know you do not support the President. Is this “pandering?” You are correct about the unprecedented obstructionism, and that he is not the devil the Republicans make him out to be. So couldn’t you have said “even if one doesn’t agree with all of the presidents policies he is not the devil the Republicans make him out to be?”

What do you think? I'd love to hear from you! Abusive comments may be removed at the discretion of the blog moderator.
